Would your patients be interested in a LAI PrEP option?

Introduce your patients to LAI PrEP options and confirm the dosing interval and testing frequency that works best for them.

What drug interactions should be considered when selecting a LAI PrEP?

It’s important to account for the metabolic pathways of the medicine and drugs that may interact with LAI PrEP. Educate your patients about drug-drug interactions and how they may impact drug concentrations of your patients’ current and future medications.

Have patients been counseled about what to expect from the injection experience?

LAI PrEP options can differ in their dosing administration, including number of injections, mode of administration, and location of injection(s) on the body. Consult the Prescribing Information and help your patients understand the safety and injection site reaction profiles of their LAI PrEP.

All PrEP should be prescribed after confirming HIV-1-negative status. Counsel patients on adherence, safety, and other prevention measures.

EHR=electronic health record; LAI=long-acting injectable.
